Dat Assawari was damaged by terrorist bomb 29.10.1980 during a refit in Italy, started in 1979. Ran trials after refit began in March 1983, ship was recommissioned in October 1983 but returned to Libya only in June 1985. During the next refit in Italy ship was transferred incomplete to Tripoli and hulked.
