Project history

First unit ordered under 1981 budget, second under 1983 programme. A third unit was requested in 1985 but refused. Although both fitted with helicopter platform (HHS-2 or Sea Hawk operated), they have no hangar. They provide AAW defence for Escort Flotillas to which they are allocated
