Project history

Repetition of Perla class without any significant differences. Three more submarines of this class already after they were laid down were sold to Brazil in September, 1937.

On Adua, Alagi, Gondar, Sciré and Tembien in days of war CT size was moderated. Gondar and Sciré in 1940-1941 were converted for transportation of human torpedoes. 100mm/47 gun has been thus removed, and on a deck three cylindrical transportation containers were installed.

Modernizations

1940 - 1941, Gondar, Sciré: - 1 x 1 - 100/47; + 3 SLC human torpedoes.
