Project history

Armoured boats-minelayers. They were built on the basis of project of PM1 armored gunboat. Building of a series begun after the introduction of Hungary into the Second World War was planned, but only two were completed, and remaining boats were destroyed on slipways in 1945 in 60% availability. In 1949 under the changed project two armoured boats-minelayers KAN1 and KAN2 were completed.

Ship protection

Bullet-proof only for hull, but turret was from Toldi tank.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

In May, 1945 both PAM1 and PAM2 surrendered to American troops and sold mercantile in 1949.
