Project history

Project 1331 small ASW ships, built as replacement for the Hai class submarine chasers, but with diesels instead of CODAG power plant. Officially were classed as 3rd rate coast defence ships. Poor seaboats without anti-rolling sysytems. Later 12 ships of modified project 1331M were built for USSR.

Modernizations

1987, Rostock, Berlin - Hauptstadt der DDR: + 2x PK-16 decoy RL

1990, all: - 1 x 2 Osa-M SAM, 4R-33 radar
