Hela 1940

Project history

Officially classified as tender, but as a matter of fact was a command ship. Hela was ordered in 1936 and built about three years, that has been called by a delay of availability of MAN diesels. She had extensive accommodations for headquarters, bunkrooms and cabins for its personnel (on 108 persons), and also extensive communication equipment. The original project provided catapult and seaplane, instead of which subsequently additional runabouts were received.

Modernizations

None.

Naval service

On reparations Hela was transferred to the USSR as Angara and remained in the service on present time.
