In 1952 the USA agreed to transfer fifteen new ocean minesweeperы of the Agile class to the Marine Nationale under MDAP. They had wooden hulls and diesels of non-magnetic stainless steel alloy. Autun, Baccarat, Berlaimont, Colmar, Narvik, Origny and Ouistreham had taller funnels than the other ships.
