Project history

These six coastal minesweepers of the Canadian 'Bay' class were launched 1951-53 and transferred to France in 1954 under MDAP. They had wooden hulls and aluminium frames and decks. In the early 1960s they were modified for service as colonial patrol boats. Sweep gear was removed, air conditioning installed, and they were later renumbered with 'P' designations.
