Project history

Thornycroft 72ft MTBs, first two were orderered by Ireland in May, 1939, remaining four in September, 1939. Under some data, originally all of part of boats were ordered by Estonia. Close on construction to British MTB24. Wooden hard-chine stepped hull. "Isotta-Fraschini" petrol engines, however it is possible, that last three boats were equipped with 4 650hp "Thornycroft" V12 engines.
