Project history

SF 3000 project of flexible support ship. Ordered 16.10.2001 and delivered in July and November 2004 respectively for replacement of Falster class minelayers. Each ship has 5 StanFlex equipment containers (3.5x3.0x2.5m). 850m² helicopter deck is equipped with McTaggart-Scott arresting system. Vehicles can be landed from vehicle hangar (84.0xx10.0x4.5m, 915m²) via stern ramp, there are also side ports. There are 70 beds for marines but 60 additional beds can be installed in containers. Hangar can be refitted to hospital consisted of 25 specialized containerized modules. Ships received all their armament and electronics only in 2007 (Absalon) and 2008 (Esbern Snare).
