Project history

German FS1500 design. It was planed to instal SAM launcher before the bridge but planes were never realized.

Modernizations

1997, Almirante Padilla, Caldas; 2002, Antioquia, Independiente: - TAVITAC CCS; + 2 x 2 Simbad SAM (~8 Mistral), TAVITAC2000 CCS, helicopter deck was enlarged to accommodate AS.550S-2 or Bell 412 helicopter

2012, Caldas, Antioquia; 2013, Almirante Padilla, Independiente: - 1 x 1 - 76/62, Sea Tiger, Furuno nav., Castor IIB radars, 1x Canopus e/o director, ASO4-5 sonar, Phoenix AC-672 ECM suite, 2x Dagaie decoy RL, TAVITAC2000 CCS; + 1 x 1 - 76/62 OTO-Melara Compact Strales, SMART-S Mk 2, Scanter 2001, Sting EO Mk 2 radars, Mirador TEOOS e/o system, ASO84-2 sonar, Vigile 200S, Altesse ECM suites, 2x SKWS DL-12T decoy RL, TACTICOS CCS; diesels were replaced by 4 MTU 20V1163 TB73L (23000hp, 27kts)
