Project history
Type 094 became absolutely new Chinese SSBN, far more quieter than type 092, armed with new JL-2 SLBMs, equipped with new powerplant and electronics. Noise level is reported as quieter than type 093 SSN but louder than Russian project 667BDR SSBN. Fourth submarine becomes to type 094A, she has streamlined hull, superstructure and sail and is quieter than predecessors.
