Project history
Type 055 are main AA ships for Chinese carrier groups. They have two VLS grids, carrying many types of cruise, anti-ship, anti-aircraft ant anti-submarine missiles. Designed under USN 'Air-Sea battle' conception. Future replacement of the 130mm gun by rail-gun is planned.
