Project history

8 first boat were ordered in 1935-1936: 4 for Canton squadron and 4 for Yangtze. Building numbers were 2324-2327 and 2336-2339). Other 8 boats were ordered in 1937 or 1938. 4 boats (building numbers 2389-2392) were transferred to Chinese Navy at Hong Kong in the mid-1938, and 2 (Nos2395, 2396), completed in September, 1938 and already delivered to Hong Kong, were requisitioned and in 1939 were commissioned by Royal Navy as MTB26 and 27.
