Project history

Both units of British Oberon class were ordered in 1969. They suffered delays in fitting out due to recabling.

Modernizations

1994, both: - 2 - 533 TT (aft), type 2007, type 187, type 197, type 719 sonars; + CSU-90 sonar suite, ISUS-90 CCS

Naval service

Hyatt and O'Brien collided with each other on surface in April 1987.
