Project history

These inshore minesweepers were derived from the British 'Ham' class. All were built in Belgium, eight (M478-485) under MDAP and the remainder under Belgian Navy estimates. Designed lo sweep the Schelde River, they were fitted for acoustic, magnetic and mechanical sweeping to a depth of 4.5-10m.
