Project history

Operate for the Ministry of Agriculture by the navy for 200nm EEZ patrol and fishery protection duties.

Modernizations

1990s, both: - 2 x 2 - 40/60; + 1 x 1 - 57/70 SAK-57 Mk 1, 1 x 1 - 40/70 Bofors 315, NA18B e/o system

Naval service

Both were damaged by cyclone in April 1991 but later repaired. Jamuna was damaged in December 2003 at Chittagong in collision with container ship.
