Project history

6 coastal minesweepers bought from the Royal Navy in 1961 and modified to suit RAN requirements, with air-conditioning, re-engining with Deltics and fitting with stabilizers.

Modernizations

1968, Curlew; 1970, Snipe - were converted to minehunters: - 1 x 1 - 40/60, minesweeping gear; + type 193 sonar, 2 inflatable boats, 4 divers
