Good Hope and Transvaal were originally built for South Africa, but delivery was embargoed. They were purchased by Argentina on 25 September 1978. Drummond and Guerrico, the ex-South African units, were originally ordered for the French Navy as Lieutenant de Vaisseau le Henaff and Commandant I'Herminier.
1980s, Guerrico; 1990s, Drummond: - 1 x 1 - 40/60, 1x Panda Mk 2 e/o director; + 1 x 2 - 40/70 Breda-Bofors Compact Twin 40, Naja Mk 2 e/o director
1980s, all: - Decca 202 radar; + Decca 1226 radar

All three units were deployed extensively during the Falklands conflict. Guerrico supported the South Georgia operation on 3 April 1982. She was hit by Carl Gustav anti-tank rocket and heavy small arms fire. The hit was just below the Exocet launcher and the damage was modest.
