Project history

Ex-USN Allen M. Sumner class destroyers, last two ships modified under FRAM II. Collett and Mansfield were originally purchased in 1974 for spares, resoectively in April and June, but first was activated in 1977 to replace decommissioned Espora. Mansfield was considered commissioned as Espora but later cannibalized.

Modernizations

1977-1978, all: + 4 x 1 MM38 Exocet SSM (4 MM38)
